c(alma)
C(ALMA) is a portal to my innermost self, a melding of two words that shape both my identity and my writing. "Calma" captures the serene state I experience while writing, a tranquility that envelops my creative process. "Alma," on the other hand, signifies the profound drive behind my artistic expression. Together, these elements weave a reflective and deeply personal journey through the pages of this book.
Synopsis (en)
Who are we? Where are we headed? What is this place we inhabit? We are souls in search of empathy and harmony amidst the chaos. At times, we grapple with a lack of confidence, forgetting that life is merely a dance, a fleeting memory, a continuous flux. Is time truly of essence? Is love our solace or our burden? Night offers a refuge for my c(alma), where words come alive under the moon’s gaze, stirring reflections on human existence, silencing the mind and shaping poetry.
About the Book
C(ALMA) is a reflection of my poetic journey, spanning from adolescence to the present, divided into three parts that follow a temporal and emotional progression. The first part, written in the Algarve (Olhão and Faro), delves into themes of identity, our struggles with self-fulfillment, love, the night, and the profound connection to nature. The second part, created in Lisbon, shifts to an urban backdrop, where the city becomes a central character, weaving through poems about the rhythm of urban life, loneliness amidst crowds, and the many facets of love and poetry. The third part returns to the Algarve, bringing with it a contemplative tone, as I reflect on the experiences and lessons that have shaped me and a love that never dies. Through each poem, I invite readers to connect with the emotions and moments that define us.

The Journey
C(ALMA) began its life in 2020 as part of the Editorial Project course within the Music Production and Promotion program at World Academy. My vision was to create a collection of my poems, written from the age of 16 to the present, enriched by the evocative photography of Rafael Duarte, whose images beautifully complement the themes explored in the book. Despite receiving recognition during the course, I temporarily set the project aside.
In 2023, I decided to breathe new life into C(ALMA), revisiting its structure with fresh poems, updated visuals, and a redesigned cover. After being approached by several publishers, I chose to publish it with Autografía.
The book officially launched in February 2024 at IPDJ in Faro, marking a milestone in my creative journey. Since then, it has been featured in the international magazine Meee:), presented at FATACIL in Lagoa on August 17th, and I had the honor of being interviewed by Algarve ao Vivo and Lagoa Radio.
Below, you can explore some of the visuals that shaped and accompanied the book’s journey.
